Continuing with our 'Making Memories with Moms' series since 2022, we are back with another trip with our moms this year. This time, our destination was Europe - Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein. We kicked off our trip in Germany, and drove around the entire country in 10 days covering a total distance of 2856 kms (1775 miles), and continued our journey in Switzerland by trains. This was a hectic trip but we are so thankful for the opportunity to enjoy all the amazing places and sceneries with our moms, making memories that will last for a long time.

24 May 2025 (Sat): Wilderswil - Mannlichen
Checked out of our apartment at 7.30am and was able to store our luggage in the laundry room since we still wanted to do some sightseeing in the morning before leaving the Jungfrau region. I learnt about this place from this video from Aplins in the Alps.
Arrived Grindelwald Terminal around 8am but had to wait until 8.30am for the Mannlichen gondola to start operating.
We managed to squeeze in a visit to Mannlichen on our trip because the gondola was scheduled to reopen for the season on May 24, which coincided with our last day in the Jungfrau region.
We were one of the first few going up the mountain as soon as the gondola started operating. There were no lines at all.
View of Grindelwald village, cows, and sheeps on our ascent.
We all happily paced most of our warm underwear in the luggage and forgot to check that it was still cold up in the mountain so we were a lil' underdressed...whoops!
We arrived Mannlichen at 8.55am and we were the first ones there.
Mannlichen has a cool playground and that moo moo cow is actually a slide.
Climbed up the moo moo cow to get a better view of the mountains. We could see the clouds rolling in.
Stunning scenery of the alps and Lauterbrunnen valley below. Mannlichen provides magnificent views of the big 3 peaks - Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau but they were covered in clouds.
Took too many same same but different photos again. Switzerland's stunning scenery took up a whole lot of my phone's memory...lol!
There is another viewpoint called the Royal Walk that requires a steep 20-minute walk but we didn't hike up there as it was covered in mist and the views around was good enough already.
After spending about an hour in Mannlichen, it was time to head downhill. That view from the window in the bottom right photo looked like a painting.
We came up from Grindelwald but went down a different route to Wengen. Took the 10.10am gondola from Mannlichen to Wengen. This gondola was also included in our Berner Oberland Pass. The cool thing about this gondola is that you can ride on the open-air rooftop balcony for an extra CHF 5 but we weren't interested as we were feeling cold already.
