Continuing with our 'Making Memories with Moms' series since 2022, we are back with another trip with our moms this year. This time, our destination was Europe - Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein. We kicked off our trip in Germany, and drove around the entire country in 10 days covering a total distance of 2856 kms (1775 miles), and continued our journey in Switzerland by trains. This was a hectic trip but we are so thankful for the opportunity to enjoy all the amazing places and sceneries with our moms, making memories that will last for a long time.

19 May 2025 (Mon): Schilthorn - Murren - Gimmelwald - Wilderswil
After a quick sightseeing stop at Schilthorn, we headed back downhill to Murren at 4.45pm.
Murren is a car-free village. We didn't spend much time here and just strolled around the town admiring the architecture, gardens, and views along the way.
We then opted to to hike down from Murren to Gimmelwald. Yes, another hike in this travel bootcamp...lol! But to be fair, the hike/walk from Murren to Gimmelwald was all the way downhill so it was easy and took only about 45 min (including photo stops). We did not see any other tourists at all on the entire hike...100% recommend!
I'm not a fan of hiking but I don't mind when the views so stunning are like these!
Approaching Gimmelwald village at 6.20pm, which is another car-free alpine village.
Wrapped up our hike at the Honesty Shop in Gimmelwald. This shop is Europe's first unattended self service village shop where you can buy any item in the shop and just leave your money in an envelope in the honesty box. They even had a credit card machine now for credit card payment!
Enjoyed some ice cream and Schwarz Monch beer from the Honesty Shop as our reward for completing the hike! Thanks mom for keeping up with our crazy 'bootcamp'. We weren't supposed to be covering so many sights in one day but we made a good decision pushing through, especially after experiencing the weather for the next few days.
Took the cable car from Gimmelwald to Stechelberg station at 7pm, then hopped on bus 141 from Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen. We were trying to decide if we should keep pushing on and stop for a quick sightseeing in Lauterbrunnen but the moms were ready to call it a day. It also started drizzling so we decided to visit another day. Hopped on one more train ride and finally made it back to Wilderswil at 8pm after a long day. We were out for more than 11 hours from 6.40am to 8pm.
We've explored the mountains today, and will be exploring the lakes tomorrow.
