Summer 2019 - Seeing Light at the End of the Tunnel

After returning from Malaysia, I returned to work and continued working through the s*** that doesn't seem to end. Busy season hours in the summer, not fun! However, there's at least light at the end of tunnel and I'm ready to move on.

It's time to clear out my phone photos before heading out on our next trip! This summer is filled with work and minimal outdoor activities...here are what we've been up to:

June 14 (Fri): Hubby's car was parked in our garage when the battery died. I brilliantly thought about roadside assistance that comes with our AAA membership. They were quick to send someone to test the battery for free, jump-start and replaced the battery for us at our house. The only thing we had to pay was for the new battery, no additional charges. Gotta remember AAA if we have any issues with our cars next time.

Stayed at several IHG hotels for work trips.

Ate out a few times

And ate in (in front of computer) at work for most lunches and dinners.

But, Sunday meal prep routine continues...

May 26 & June 2 (Sun): Chicken herbal soup, baked chicken, bbq potato & sausage, stir-fry veggies, pasta chow mien, roasted chicken, stir-fry pork.

June 9 & 15 (Sun): Tomyum soup with chicken, stir-fry chicken, egg sandwich, pasta chow mien, egg roll with mushrooms, stir-fry beef, fried rice, bbq potato & sausage, stir-fry veggies.

July 7 & 14 (Sun): Tomyum soup with mussels, stir-fry pork, stir-fry veggies, pasta, egg roll, fried rice with spam and cucumber, bbq potato and sausage.

July 20 & 28 (Sun): Stir-fry pork, pasta, stir-fry veggies, stir-fry potatoes, scrambled egg and mushrooms.

Aug 4 & 10 (Sun): Pasta, scrambled eggs, stir-fry veggies, pan-fried fish with cocktail sauce, egg sandwich.

Aug 18 & 25 (Sun): Pineapple fried rice, tomyum soup with mussels, stir-fry veggies, pasta with meatball, tuna.

July 8-10 (Mon-Wed): Got back from Malaysia on Sunday and flew out to New York on Monday for the Multicultural Women's National Conference held at Marriott Marquis Times Square.

The hotel is located in the heart of Times Square.

Which means the surrounding area is crowded at all times.

Had dinner at the hotel's Broadway Lounge & Terrace overlooking Times Square.

Woke up super early the next morning (thanks jet lag) and went downstairs to get a photo of Times Square without the crowd

Honored to be selected as one of the 25 delegates representing the company for this event.

Spent most of our time in this conference hall with women from other companies.

Enjoyed some good food for lunch.

Had dinner with fellow delegates and partners at Oceana restaurant.

Walked over to Ichiran for early dinner before heading to the airport on the last day. Bought some back and made our DIY ramen noodles. =P

The work may be s***ty but I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to work in such a nice campus over the last 5 years.

Aug 11-15 (Mon - Thurs): Traveled to Charlotte to teach training for a week. Glad to finally get some teaching time in after bailing out on the last 2 training I signed up for.

Even hotels have Amazon echo these days. Gotta keep up with the tech with all the gadgets I got for free from the company (iPad, Jabra bluetooth earbuds, FitBit Charge 2). =)

Hotel room service and catered food for the week.

Aug 18 (Sun): Birthday dinner with the family at mom's. Thanks for the awesome present!
