Switzerland Trip 2025 ✈ Part 6: Lungern

Continuing with our 'Making Memories with Moms' series since 2022, we are back with another trip with our moms this year. This time, our destination was Europe - Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein. We kicked off our trip in Germany, and drove around the entire country in 10 days covering a total distance of 2856 kms (1775 miles), and continued our journey in Switzerland by trains. This was a hectic trip but we are so thankful for the opportunity to enjoy all the amazing places and sceneries with our moms, making memories that will last for a long time.

20 May 2025 (Tues): Wilderswil - Lungern

Early start for the day at 6.30am to get some sightseeing done in the morning as it was forecasted to start raining in the afternoon.

Everyone warming up to prep for another day of 'bootcamp'...lol!

Took the first Luzern-Interlaken Express train for the day at 7.04am from Interlaken OST station. This was the same train we took from Lucerne on the first day, but we are going the other direction today.

First part of the train journey took us along Lake Brienz. Videos and photos don't do justice to the scenery. The windows on this train is tinted so all the photos looked too 'warm'.
Travel tip: Sit on the right side of the train for better views.

Switzerland is so beautiful! Lungern has the nicest scenery along this train ride imo.

Got off the train at Kaisertuhl station (the station right after Lungern) at 8.10am. This town is one the other end of Lake Lungern.

The surrounding was so peaceful and the lake had a perfect reflection of the surrounding mountains.

The main reason to stop at Kaisertuhl station was for this house. So what's special about this house?

Yes, my hunt for another CLOY filming location continues! This Swiss chalet appeared in the final episode and it is where Seri and Captain Ri stayed during their yearly rendezvous in Switzerland. This was also the filming location for the final scene where Seri and Captain Ri enjoyed a romantic picnic near their Swiss chalet, overlooking the spectacular view of Lake Lungern.

Unfortunately, this is a private property so I could only use my 5x zoom to get 'close'.

After about 35 min at Kaisertuhl, we hopped back on the train and made it to Lungern at 8.50am, which was just a stop away. We got another preview of Lungern on this short train ride.

It was time for another 'bootcamp' hike/walk to see Lake Lungern and the village from above.

Once again, we were the only tourists there. Love being early and beating the crowds.

Managed to catch a train passing by at this Curvy Street Hotspot.

This place is so pretty I took too many same same but different photos and videos...lol!

After spending about an hour walking around this area and taking too many photos/videos, it was time to continue our journey to the next destination at 9.50am.

We were supposed to take the Luzern-Interlaken express all the way to Brienz but we were informed that there were some technical issues with the track to Interlaken so everyone was asked to get off the train at Meiringen station. Luckly, the train was still able to operate to Brienz station so we were able to hop on another train to Brienz, just slightly delayed. Credits to the SBB staffs for being super quick and efficient in arranging buses to take most of the other passengers to Interlaken.
